-Specialization in Neuropsychiatry of Children and Adolescents, University of Padua, 2002.
-Since April 2006, Researcher at the Medical School,Woman and Child Health Department,University of Padua.
-Since October 2007, Adjunct Professor at the Medical School, Woman and Child Health Department,
University of Padua.
-Since October 2018, Associate Professor at the Medical School, Woman and Child Health Department,
University of Padua.
She has become Researcher at the University of Padua in 2006, Adjunct Professor since 2007.
Prof.Gatta Michela has worked as neuropsychiatrist in the Public Health Outpatient Service for Children And Adolescent with mental disorder -Azienda ULSS of Padova- since 2002.
Director of the Childhood, Adolescence and Family Unit in 2017 and 2018.

She coordinates many trainers working in the research projects she run (study of the therapies' efficacy and patients' outcome; strategies of prevention for alcohol abuse, efficacy of multimodal intervention versus single one, familiar relational dynamics within families of psychiatric children and adolescents, psychological and psychiatric diseases in neurological pediatric patients, ...).
The results obtained in her research projects and studies in the field of clinical psychology, neuro
psychiatry and psychopathology of children and adolescents have been presented at many national and international congresses and have been published in many national and international journals (over 180 publications in the last 18 years)

Research areas
attività di ricerca clinica applicata nell'ambito della NPI, privilegiando in particolare
alcuni filoni:
-psicopatologia dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza: protocolli diagnostico-terapeutici, interventi clinico-riabilitativi multiprofessionali e integrati, studio delle dinamiche interattive familiari, valutazione dell’efficacia dei trattamenti e follow up.
-psicopatologia delle emergenze psichiatriche in adolescenza: approccio diagnostico-terapeutico ai gravi disturbi del comportamento e della personalità, aggressività agita auto ed etero diretta, disordini dell’umore e ritiro sociale.
-aspetti psicopatologici, di diagnosi e trattamento in bambini e adolescenti con problematiche organiche, e neurologiche in particolare (prematurità, scarsa crescita, alterato sviluppo puberale, spina bifida, epilessia, cefalea, patologie neurocutanee).
