Degree in Physics (Padova 1973) 110/110.
Educational contract of the MPI for scientific and teaching training (1975 - 1985).
Ricercatore universitario confermato starting from 1985 till now.
Scientific activity mainly in the field of elementary particle physics on the study of hadrons electromagnetic interactions, of light quarks and gluons spectroscopy; on the development of techniques of detection of elementary charged and neutral particles.
I worked in the following collaborations:
1972 - 1976 MEA experiment in Frascati, on the optimization of the detector and on the data analysis;
1976 - 1982 WA6 experiment at CERN, on the installation, optimization of a detector for back- scattered protons; on part of data analysis;
1980 - 1989 DM2 experiment in Orsay (Paris), on the Montecarlo program and on the data analysis of neutral particles events;
1986 - 1993 FENICE experiment in Frascati, on the construction of detectors of the full apparatus and on part of the data analysis;
1992 - 1999 RD5/CMS experiments at CERN on the construction, lab tests, optimization tests on a particle beam of a drift chamber prototype to be mounted on the CMS experiment at LHC;
1989 - 1999 CHERS/RD26/BAPHOR experiments on the construction, test of a fast Cherenkov Ring Imaging Device with solid radiator (NaF), cathode pads read-out, photocathode in CsI, on the measurement of the quantum efficiency of thin layers of CsI produced by RF sputtering;
In this period I have equipped a laboratory for the measurement of the absolute value of quantum efficiency of photocathodes in the UV - Vis - Near IR range.
I was national spokesman in the CHERS experiment till 1993 and in the years 1998-1999 (exp. BAPHOR). I proposed to install a Particle Identification device (RICH with CaF2 solid radiator and solid CsI photocathode) in the CLOE experiment in Frascati,
Starting from 1999 till now I am working in an international European collaboration (MAGIC) in the field of gamma astronomy, in the construction, optimization and laboratory tests of about 700 Al mirrors to carry out a 17 m diameter big mirror.
I was national spokesman of the HPDREP experiment for the study and characterization of photocathodes with Negative Electron Affinity.
Actually I am working on the construction of an HPD in the Near IR range, on the measurement of QE of several SiPM produced by different Factories. Finally I am involved in a particle High Energy experiment constructed in Japan c/o KEK laboratories in Tsukuba.

Teaching activity in the period 1973-2018: I taught without interruption in 52 courses.
