Actual position
Associate Professor of Manufacturing Processes Department of Industrial Engineering University of Padua, Italy EDUCATION 2005: University of Parma, Parma, Italy: Doctorate degree Industrial Engineering 2001: University of Padua, Padua, Italy: M. Sc. Mechanical Engineering ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE 2014-present: University of Padua (Padua, Italy), Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Associate Professor of Manufacturing Processes 2006-2014: University of Padua, (Padua, Italy), Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Assistant Professor of Manufacturing Processes 2005-2006: University of Padua, (Padua, Italy), Dept. of Innovation in Mechanics and Management, Post Doctorate research contract 2001: University of Padua, (Padua, Italy), Research contract RESEARCH EXPERIENCE 2007-today: University of Padua, (Padua, Italy), Scientific activities are mainly focused on metalworking processes, both for bulk and sheet metal forming, and machines monitoring. In the bulk metal forming field, attention has been paid on cold, warm and hot forging, with particular efforts in the study of material rheological behaviour and physical testing, tribology (friction and heat transfer), and numerical simulation of forming processes. In the sheet metal forming field, research has been focused on hot stamping of HSS and aluminium alloys and new coatings and lubricants applied to sheet forming. In the field of forming machines, the activities were devoted to study of the analysis of process-machine interactions, in terms of dimensional accuracy, mechanical and microstructural properties of forged components. In this framework, different methodologies and monitoring techniques for the process control were applied. 2004: Osaka University and NICHIDAI CO. (Osaka-Kyoto, Japan), Internship: selected for the “4th International Training on Precision Forging”, to carry on the following activities: − visiting researcher at the Osaka University (Osaka) for the study of aluminium metallic foams and the development of manufacturing processes of lightweight alloys, − stage at NICHIDAI CO. (Kyoto) for the study of engine parts production chain for automotive. 2002: Denmark Technical University, (Lyngby, Denmark), visiting scientist: development of measurement methodologies and transducers for forming machine plant monitoring. Since 2002 supervisor of more than 100 M.Sc. theses at University of Padua. Since 2006 supervisor of 7 Ph.D. theses in the field of metalforming processes. MEMBERSHIPS - ICFG (International Cold Forging Group) as Full Member since 2015. Since 2010 Chairman of the Process Simulation Subgroup. Since 2013 member of the advisory board. - ESAFORM (European Scientific Association for Material Forming), since 2005. - AITEM (Italian Association for Manufacturing Technology), since 2003. List of taught course units in A.Y. 2019/20
