Carlo Pellegrino is Full Professor of Structural Analysis and Design and Head of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, University of Padova, Italy.
He is elected member of the Academic Senate, University of Padova, Italy.
Laurea (B.Sc. and M.Sc.), “magna cum laude”, Civil Engineering, University of Padova, Italy. Ph.D. in "Mechanics of Structures", University of Bologna, Italy.
Coordinator of several national and international research projects and participant in COST Actions.
Scientist-in-charge for the University of Padova in the European Project “European Network for Durable Reinforcement and Rehabilitation Solutions – endure” FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN.
Co-scientist-in-charge for the University of Padova in the European Project “EU Training Network for Resource Recovery through Enhanced Landfill Mining – NEW-MINE”, call: H2020-MSCA-ITN-2016.
Referee for the selection of international research projects.
Memberships of various national and international technical and scientific associations.
Past Chairman of the RILEM Technical Committee 234-DUC "Design procedures for the use of composites in strengthening of Reinforced Concrete structures".
Past Member of the RILEM Technical Committee 207-INR “Interpretation of NDT results and assessment of Reinforced Concrete Structures” and the fib Task Groups 4.5 “Bond Models” and 2.5 “Bond in Concrete”.
Past Member of the Editorial Advisory Committee of the international journal “Materials and Structures”, Springer. Referee of more than 40 international journals.
Author of over 300 scientific publications, over 100 of them in referred ISI/Scopus journals with more than 2500 citations about the following topics: assessment, rehabilitation, strengthening and retrofit of buildings and bridges; seismic vulnerability and risk of existing buildings and bridges; integrated risk assessment and management of bridges in transportation networks; advanced strengthening techniques by means of innovative techniques; use of recycled components for structural materials.
Keynote speaker and member of the Editorial Board/International Scientific Committee of several International Conferences. Organizer of various Special Sessions/Mini-Symposia in International Conferences. Member of the Organizing Committee of various national and international conferences. Editorial Board Member of International Journals.
Past Member of the Council of the European Master (Erasmus Mundus) “Advanced Masters in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions” and coordinator of the unit SA5 “Repairing and strengthening techniques”.
He holds the courses of “Structural Analysis and Design”, “Assessment and improving the safety of existing structures” and “Design of Bridges” at the University of Padova and various post-graduate courses.
Member of the Council of the Ph.D. School in "Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering Sciences" (University of Padova). Supervisor of several Master and Ph.D. theses.
