Curriculum Vitae
Honors Degree cum laude in Economics at the Cà Foscari University of Venice, Italy (1985). Research Program in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK (1992-1993). PhD in Public Finance at the University of Pavia, Italy (1994).

Full Professor in Public Finance at the Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" of the University of Padua. Courses: i) Public Finance for the Graduate Course in Economic Law; ii) Public Economics and Local Public Finance for the Graduate Course in “Political Science, International Studies and Governance of Public Administrations”; iii) Health Economics for the Graduate Course of “Economics”.

Over 100 scientific publications particularly in two research areas: 1) Health Economics (Economics of ageing; Funding mechanisms of social and health care services; Long-term care); 2) Local public finance (Economics of local public services, Fiscal federalism).

Editor of the Italian scientific journal “Politiche Sanitarie”(Italian Journal of Health Policy). Member of the Scientific Committee of the Series “Studies and Research in Bioetics and Humanities” – Franco Angeli Publisher (Milan) and of the Italian scientific journal “Economia e Società Regionale” (Regional Economy and Society).

Member of the Italian Health Economics Association (AIES) and of the Research Centre of Public Economics (CRIEP) among the Departments of Economics of the Universities of Padua, Venice and Verona.

Member of the Technical Committee for the evaluation of medical devices (CTRDM) and of the Working Group on new drugs in hematology of Veneto Region.

President of the Advisory Body (Organo di Indirizzo) of the University Hospital (AOUI) of Verona.

Member of the Scientific Committee of the Liberary Centre of the University of Padua. President of the Social Science Centre of the Library - University of Padua. Director of the Library of the Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” - University of Padua

Main current research projects:
- February 2018 to date – Member of the CARIPARO Excellence Project (Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo): “Value for money” in public procurement for medical technology and devices” – P.I. Prof. Paola Valbonesi (DSEA-University of Padova).
- January 2017 to date – Member of the PRIN (Italian Ministry of University and Research) Project 2015 “The economics of old age risks”, national scientific coordinator Prof. Tullio Jappelli (University of Naples “Federico II”), Local Responsible of the Project Unit of the University of Padova, Prof. Guglielmo Weber.
- 2013 to date – Member of the European research network NETSPAR (Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement).
- 2002 to date – Member of the Working Group “Health Care”, SHARE (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe), funded by the European Commission and co-ordinated centrally at the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging.
