Main topics are the anthropological-philosophical understanding of marginalization (in different areas of intervention of the Social Service), and issues related to the development of Restorative Justice.

Curriculum Vitae
Giovanni Grandi is Associate Professor of Moral Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology of the University of Padua, where he teaches "Theoretical and Historical Foundations of Philosophical Anthropology" at the Study Course in Social Service and "Analysis of conflicts, forms of justice and reparative practices "at the course of study in Social Service Sciences. Also for the University of Padua, he is a member of the MIUR Accredited Teaching Committee of the PhD Program in Philosophy and of the Board of Directors of CIRFIM, the Interdipartimental Research Center of Medieval Philosophy.
Participates as a member of other academic and cultural and national and international organizations including, in the context of studies on the forms of marginalization, the SOUQ - Center for Studies on Urban Suffering (Milan), and in the field of anthropological and socio-political studies, the Scientific Committee of the International Jacques Maritain Institut; he was also a member of the Committee for Human Rights and Culture of Peace of the Veneto Region.
He is the founder and director of the Philosophical Yearbook “Anthropologica”, which deals with contemporary anthropological and moral issues, with the contribution of a Scientific Committee composed of academics from the main European universities.
He is the Principal Investigator of several academic projects, in particular in the field of research on the forms of conflict and justice, with reference to the reparative approach (Restorative Justice). In this area, he recently promoted and started a collaboration between the University of Padua and AREA Science Park for the development of research and experimental teaching in the field of social innovation, planning a multi-year research program, including the realization of some pilot projects for Secondary Schools and for youths inspired by the reparative approach, adopted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
He directed the research team that has formalized the intervention model of Rondine - Citadel of Peace, Nobel Peace Prize 2015 (www.rondine.org), a two-year residential training initiative for the re-elaboration of the conflict, that involves young people coming from countries with past or active war experiences.
He organized various training courses on issues related to the forms of intra- and interpersonal conflict, including the "Percorso Ulisse", for the students of the Fourth Year of Excellence of Rondine (supported by Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research).
In 2008 he founded the School of Applied Anthropology of the Jacques Maritain Institute (www.maritain.eu), which he still directs, planning and creating a Summer school dedicated to the study of fundamental anthropological issues in connection with training and therapeutic applications.
He has twenty years long experience as trainer and supervisor of educational teams and dedicates part of the seminar and conferences activities to the socio-health and educational areas that require anthropological perspective about practices.
