04/2005 - 09/2008: eligible for ECVCP board examination (training period at department of Veterinary Pathology, Hygiene and Health, University of Milan)
11/2003 - 10/2006: PhD in Veterinary Hygiene and Animal Pathology, focused on clinical-pathological evaluation of hematopoietic tumors. PhD thesis: Clinical-pathological aspect of myelo-lymphoproliferative neoplasms of dog and cat, PhD supervisor, Dr. Stefano Comazzi, Department of Veterinary Pathology, Hygiene and Health, University of Milan
11/2002: Veterinary Licence
2002: degree in veterinary medicine. Thesis: classification of feline hematopoietic tumor and preliminary results on p53 mutation in lymphoid neoplasia. Thesis supervisor: Saverio Paltrinieri (110/110). Faculty of veterinary medicine, University of Milan.

Clinical pathological characterization of hematological neoplasm in domestic animals: analysis of pathogenetic and prognostic features and evaluation of new flow cytometric procedures as diagnostic tools.
Flow cytometric evaluation of leukocytes subsets and protocols line up for the evaluation of aspecific immunity in mammals
Molecular aspects of aspecific immunity in domestic animals
Evaluation of diagnostic accuracy of cytological examination in neoplastic disease in companion animals
Evaluation of new inflammatory markers in marine mammals.

ATTIVITA’ DI RICERCA
Caratterizzazione clinico-patologica dei disturbi linfomieloproliferativi degli animali domestici: analisi degli aspetti patogenetici molecolari e messa a punto di tecniche diagnostiche immunofenotipiche.
Aspetti molecolari della risposta immunitaria aspecifica dei carnivori domestici


METODICHE
Ematologia ed ematochimica
Valutazione quali- quantitativa degli elementi ematici in diverse specie animali, utilizzo di conta globuli automatiche ad impedenza e laser. Messa a punto di protocolli diagnostici per l’identificazione e caratterizzazione di leucemie e linfomi tramite contaglobuli laser e analisi citofluorimetrica
Citofluorimetria
Analisi delle sottopopolazioni leucocitarie di diverse specie animali. Tipizzazione di linfomi, leucemie mieloidi e linfoidi.
Biologia e diagnostica molecolare:
Identificazione e quantificazione dell’espressione di citochine nei leucociti tramite RT-PCR. Ricerca e amplificazione di RNA virale da sangue e tessuti felini tramite PCR e RT-PCR. Analisi dell’espressione di marker tumorali mediante qRT-PCR.
