Curriculum Vitae
I obtained my master thesis, cum laude, at the University of Padova in 2001, with a study of radiation damage in detectors for high-energy physics.
I obtained my Ph.D. at the University of Padova in 2005, with a thesis describing the process of radiation hardness assurance for the electronics of the gamma-ray space telescope Fermi-LAT (Large Area Telescope).
From June 2011 I am staff researcher at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padova. My research activities focus on developing detectors and analysis techniques for astrophysics and fundamental physics.
As member of the Fermi-LAT collaboration I focus on characterizing the response of the telescope and assessing systematics. From 2018 I am local responsible (INFN, Padova section) of the project "GammaMEV", for the development of future space observatories in the MeV energy regime. I am member of the teams proposing two next-generation instruments: e-Astrogam (M-class ESA mission) and AMEGO (Probe-class NASA mission).
I am member of the Cherenkov Telescope Array – Large Surface Telescope collaboration (CTA-LST), for the construction of a Cherenkov observatory on ground, with many very-high-energy telescopes distributed in two sites. I am member of the executive board of the LST project, as coordinator for the R&D activities for the development of a camera based on Silicon photomultipliers.
Since 2011 I teach first-year physics to engineering students. From 2016 I am member of the course board for the Ph.D. in "Science, Technology and Measurements in Space" of the University of Padova.
