Born in Chioggia (VE), in 1976. Medical degree cum laude in 2001 in the University of Padova. Specialization cum laude in Legal Medicine in 2005 in the University of Padova. PhD in Neuroscience in 2009 in the University of Padova. Assistant Professor of Human Anatomy in the University of Padova from 2005. Associate Professor of Human Anatomy in the University of Padova from 2011. National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor in Human Anatomy from 2016.
Didactic activity in the Courses of Medicine and Surgery, Odontoiatry and Dental Prosthesis, Biotechnologies, Medical Biotechnologies, Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Ortoctics. Didactic activity in the Specializations in Infant Neuropsichiatrics, Dermatology, Food Science, Endocrinology, Audiology, Sports Medicine. Didactic activity in macroscopic anatomy for the Wake Forest University (Canada) in March-April 2014.
Member of the Library Commission of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery from 2009 to 2011. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Department of Molecular Medicine of the University of Padua from 2012 to 2016. External Reviewer for the Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2012. Representative for the School of Medicine in the ‘Presidio della Qualità della Didattica”. Director of the Course in Aerospace Medicine from 2013-2014. Member of the PhD Program in Molecular Medicine from 2014-2015.
Main research fields in neuroscience (central and peripheral chemoreceptors, neuroanatomy/neuropathology of the brainstem), regenerative medicine and tissue engineering (development of biologic scaffolds through decellularization and innovative artificial materials) and clinical anatomy.
Author of more than 200 in extenso papers in journals with Impact Factor (IF >550; H-index = 28; total citations: >2880, Scopus 30.04.2018).
Participation in PRIN 2005 and 2007. Head of Research Project of the University of Padua in 2014. Scientific head for Scholaships in Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering (2016 and 2017 from TES Foundation). Private funds for surgical anatomy courses with cadavers.
