Curriculum Vitae
Anna Polo is a researcher in Spanish language (RTDa) in the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies of the University of Padua.
She graduated in Foreign Languages for International Communication in 2008 at the University of Padua, where in 2009 she also achieved a Master's Degree in Teaching of Italian as L2 with a thesis, directed by Prof. Lo Duca, on the dissymmetries in the grammatical treatment of verbal paradigms in Italian and Spanish, in the context of teaching Italian L2 to native speakers students of Spanish.
In 2014 she obtained her PhD in Linguistics, Classic and Modern Languages, together with the mention of Doctor Europaeus, from the same university.
She has been a research fellow with the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies with a project dealing with the study of the verb in the grammars of Spanish dedicated to an Italian public, published between the XVI and XVIII centuries (CPDA159431).

In 2013, she obtained an international mobility grant within the framework of the MIUR Lifelong Learning Programme to carry out a 4-month research period abroad at the Faculty of Education of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her research activity has developed around two main lines, both related to the teaching and learning of Spanish by Italian learners: she has dealt with grammaticographic description on one hand, and translation from Spanish to Italian on the other, related in particular to the expression of the modal domain.
She has participated as a speaker at several international scientific conferences, of which the most important are:
(i) MetaGramma. Variazione testuale e metalinguistica nei materiali per lo studio delle lingue straniere, (8-9 March 2016), University of Bologna, Forlì;
(ii) L'insegnamento dello spagnolo a italofoni: secoli XIX e XX. Contesto socioculturale, didattico-normativo e grammaticografico, (22-23 April 2013), University of Bologna, Forlì;
(iii) XIII International Conference of AJIHLE (10-13 April 2013), Facultad de Filología, University of Salamanca;
(iv) XII International Conference of AJIHLE (2-4 May 2012), DiSLL - Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies, University of Padua.

She was a member of the organising committee of the XII International Conference of AJIHLE, held in 2012 at the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies of the University of Padua.
She also carried out support activities in the organization of the Symposium Discurso en las prácticas educativas, in the context of the 3rd Congreso Internacional de Etnografía y Educación-CIEYE 2013, co-organized both by CSIC/CCHS and the Facultad de Educación of the Complutense University, which took place in Madrid from 3 to 5 July 2013.
Since 2016 she is a member of the CIRSIL (Inter-university Centre for Research on the History of Linguistic Teaching).
Since 2012 she is a member of the AISPI (Associazione degli ispanisti italiani) and AJIHLE (Asociación de Jóvenes Investigadores de Historiografía e Historia de la Lengua Española).
She is also a member of the editorial committee of the Orillas journal (Padua University Press).
Since 2013 she held teaching positions at the Higher School for Linguistic Mediators - CIELS and at the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies of the University of Padua.
