Proposals for thesis
Our research group is interested in studying the immune evasion mechanisms in tumor context and chronic infections.

In particular, we are focused in investigating:

- the mechanisms that lead to antigen presentation impairment in colorectal cancer, with attention to MHC-II antigen presenting molecule and immunne receptor CD300e;

- the signaling pathway triggered upon CD300e activation;

- the mechanisms that lead to antigen presentation impairment in Helicobacter pylori infection, one of the major risk factor for gastric cancer development.

To this aim, we work mainly with primary immune cells isolated from healthy donosrs and tumor cell lines. We adopt combined approaches of cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology.

Research areas
G. CODOLO is interested in elucidating the MOLECULAR PATHWAYS that regulate the innate IMMUNE RESPONSE both in CANCER and in CHRONIC INFECTIONS.
In particular, her research is focused on the study of the immune escape mechanisms in cancer and chronic infection.
