Brief description of the degree course
Characteristics and objectives
The bachelor degree in Education and Training Sciences (SEF) in Padua campus provides basic knowledge and understanding in the pedagogical field; it prepares students to be able to work in different educational and training contexts. By offering an interdisciplinary approach, it develops study and research in the educational field, both from a theoretical and empirical point of view.
After a first common year, the educational offer is divided into two different curricula.
The curriculum in Educational Sciences (SED) offers a broad knowledge in the field of Education and Human Sciences, with specific focus on methodological and teaching aspects. It supports the student towards the development of competences related to the design, implementation and evaluation of educational activities such as guidance, school and training documentation, learning support both in situations with specific difficulties and in scaffolding activities, pedagogical consultations. It provides a basic knowledge and understanding, also aimed at continuing the university career in order to achieve a qualification for teaching in secondary school.
The curriculum in Human Resources Training and Development (FSRU) provides the student with knowledge and competences devoted to carry out training needs analysis in different organisational and work contexts, to design, manage and evaluate training processes and activities for youth people and adults, also using multimedia technologies and distance learning systems.
For both curricula there is a compulsory internship, which can also be carried out with periods spent abroad.

Occupational opportunities
The Educational Science (SED) curriculum provides knowledge and understanding in all fields where educational skills are required to support learning processes, with particular focus on activities in socio-educational, cultural-recreational and health care services (with reference to socio-educational aspects) offered by institutions, associations, non-profit organisations operating in the area and in partnership with schools. The educational offer also covers competences to be spent in educational counseling services, educational communication projects and activities aimed at producing educational tools for libraries and museums. The SED curriculum offers access to the master degrees that that allow students to become secondary school teachers.
The Human Resources Training and Development (FSRU) prepares professionals in the role of trainers, designers and assessors of professional and lifelong learning programs and activities, face-to-face and on-line, in organisational and training contexts for youth people and adults. Graduates will be able to work within companies, public bodies and non-profit associations, in first-level post-compulsory or initial training, second-level, post-secondary and post-graduate training, human resources selection and adult education continuous training for professionals. FSRU curriculum provides knowledge and understanding in order to operate in the field of distance education, as instructors and teachers in vocational and adult training, as experts in career guidance services and as experts in employment services.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The bachelor degree gives access to master degree courses in "Management of educational services and adult education" and "Cultures, training and global society", according to the regulations indicated in the specific admissions documents.
