Prerequisites:

Mathematics, especially functions, vector computation, derivatives and integrals. 
Target skills and knowledge:

Knowledge of some of the fundamental laws of Physics, and some of those used in disciplinary area. Ability to deal with problems. Usage of appropriate terminology. 
Assessment criteria:

The evaluation will be based on the right apllication of the laws of Physics in the proposed exercises solution. Also the judgment of the laboratory reports will contribute to the final result.

Physical units, system of measurement, dimensional analysis. Kinematics. Reference systems. Motion and the material point approximation. Vector units. Vector calculus recalls. Vector equation of motion, trajectory equation and time law. The velocity vector. The acceleration vector. Uniform motions and with constant modulus acceleration. Line and circular motion. Simple harmonic motion. Motion with constant accceleration: fall of bodies. The three Newton laws. Forces. Constraint reactions. Statycal and dynamical friction, elastic force. Inertial reference systems. Circular motion. Centripetal force. Energy and work of a force. Power. Kinetic energy theorem. Conservative and non conservative forces. Potential Energy. Energy conservation. Nonconservative forces. Material point statics. Fluids: scalar and vector fields. Pascal and Stevino laws. Archimedes principle . Motion of fluids. Bernoulli theorem. Viscosity. Polarization. Reflection. Refraction. Dispersion. Laboratory exercises: some basics on error theory; 5 exercises.

Front lessons and some laboratory exercises. Attendance to all the laboratory exercises is mandatory.
