Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of the anatomy of the musculo-skeletal system.
Target skills and knowledge: Knowledge and ability to observe and recognize different types of postures and alterations. Locate and recognize the patches, muscles and tendons that can be easily detected under the skin. Perform a muscular and articulation examination, giving an appropriate meaning to the measurements obtained. Recognize the different types of End Feel and range of motion. Acquire the means for a knowledge of the locomotor apparatus according to a three-dimensional representation, in size and in the real positions taken by the individual.
Assessment criteria: They will be indicated by the teacher at the beginning of the course
Course unit contents: Observation, inspection, palpation of the bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments where possible. Determining the points of repere, of muscular dysticks and of the different "range of motion" (amplitude and extension of movement). Identify the end-feel, elastic resistance following passive articulation of the joint. Measurement of joint degrees and muscular strength. Locating the muscles involved in specific movements and / or posture.
