Syllabus
Prerequisites: The students are supposed to have a B1 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching - Threshold, CEFR, 2001)

Target skills and knowledge: The Focus will be on the building up Vocabulary Competence Fit for Purpose and
Interactive Competence through:
-Reading comprehension : Information Gathering , Using Findings ,Research
- Listening : competence building for gist, detail , collecting data from a patient, with videos and/or audios , English speaking countries differences
- Speaking: Accuracy, pronunciation , idioms , register, purposeful-physiotherapy language and Peer Interaction : patient-physiotherapist, Cultural implications in language use
- Writing: spelling (British English vs American English) Note Taking , Report Writing , Summarising
Job and career considerations: A view to the future – (CV writing)
Assessment criteria: Written test : passed 80% correct answers
Oral test : an effective communication, in spite of some minor errors.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The language in the class is English. The students will have the opportunity of listening to variations of the spoken English in the world by means of videos from University and/or Hospital sites. They will perform role play as a peer or group training.
