Prerequisites: General, inorganic and organic Chemistry
Target skills and knowledge: The student will achieve knowledge on the fundamental mechanisms of functioning, development and evolution of living organisms and methods for their studying.
Examination methods: The verification of profit takes place in a computerized test mode with closed questions and recognition of plant tissues slides.
Assessment criteria: The level of knowledge of the students will be evaluated by checking the acquisition of knowledge on specific topics and skills on technical language.
Course unit contents: 1° credit: Life and living organisms, basic definitions in biology, chemistry and living organisms (organic molecules of the life)
2° credit: Cells and tissues
3° credit: Metabolism
4° credit: Anatomy of living organisms
5° credit: Physiology of living organisms
6° credit: Genetics
7° credit: Heritage, phylogeny and evolution
8° credit: Organisms interaction, symbiosis and ecology.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures: 40 hours

Additional notes about suggested reading: It is recommended attending regularly the lectures in order to acquire the study materials provided by the teacher and for faster exam preparation. Powerpoint materials will be provided entirely during the course.
