Syllabus
Prerequisites: Elements of general sociology
Target skills and knowledge: -Favoring the acquisition of knowledge and analysis on paradigm shifts in the global economic scenario, on the main processes underway in the productive and labor system and in the Fourth Industrial Revolution
-Promote the acquisition of analytical tools and critical spirit in the use of sociological approaches to the theme of change, transformation and innovation in the economic and working environment
- To deepen the implications of cultural and organizational changes
- Knowledge on the professional roles of HR manager, personnel selector and trainer
- Knowledge of different company profiles (private and public)
Examination methods: The exam (9 CFU) takes place in oral form.
For attending students it is composed of three parts whose outcome will be proportional to the determined CFU:
a) 6 CFU of which:
a.1) 4.3 CFU (frontal lesson): the exam takes place in oral form and will concern the study of the reference texts. The vote is valid up to (max) 14/30
a.2) 1,7 CFU (online laboratory): the exam will consist in the preparation of a project linked to the training needs of a company among those encountered in moments of "meeting with companies". At the end of the course the project will be illustrated by the students to the managers of the company. The vote is valid up to (max) 6/30
b) 3CFU (meeting with companies): company visits that will accompany the lessons and a final meeting to present a project that will be prepared in class through group work. The project, at the end of the course, will be presented and discussed with the HR managers of the companies encountered. The vote is valid until (max) 10/30
The final mark of the examination will be determined, proportionally, by the sum of the points a.1), a.2) and b)
The exam for non-attending students takes place in oral form and will be based on the reference texts
Assessment criteria: The assessment will take into consideration:
a) for the oral examination
- Exhibition capacity with appropriate use of the specific terminology
- Ability to display in depth the contents
- Capacity for logical development
- Ability to connect between economic and social phenomena
b) for the illustration of the projects (on-line and laboratory in the classroom)
- Exhibition capacity with appropriate use of the specific terminology
- Adequacy of the phases developed
- Depth of the exploration carried out
- Relevance of the collected data
- Completeness of the produced product
- Ability to work in a group
- Effectiveness of the methods used for presentation
Course unit contents: - The relationship between economy and society: fundamental concepts
- Introduction to the classics: the distinctive contribution of sociology in terms of object and method, from the processes of industrialization and modernization to globalization
- The global crisis: framing, changes, transformations, innovations
- The context of the North East of Italy: repercussions on society and the economy
- Case analysis and group work in the classroom
- Planning of training intervention
- Insights through company visits on the topics of communication and training in companies
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: - Frontal lessons starting from the elements of theory
- Discussion in class analyzing the current economic and social phenomena
- Deepening with experts in the classroom
- Group work with case study in the classroom
- On-line laboratory
- The activities of the course will be accompanied, in a laboratory logic, by meetings with companies
Teacher activity: conducting lessons and activities in attendance; preparation of study material and in-depth study; supervision of activities and ongoing monitoring; didactic and scientific support; evaluation of products
Tutor activity: technological support on the platform; management of online work groups, ongoing monitoring

Non-attending students will be able to take the oral exam based on the program indicated below
