Syllabus
Prerequisites: Very good knowledge of the English language.
Good competence in general linguistics.
Target skills and knowledge: Development of the linguistic and educational competences to teach English as a foreign language.
Examination methods: Written exam with closed- and open-ended questions.
One part of th exam may be replaced by a simulation of a class accompanied by a paper.
Assessment criteria: Evalutation of the theoretical competence aquired and of the real and concrete teaching problem solving capability.
Course unit contents: - Introduction to English as an international language (sociolinguistic outline);
- Principles of Language Teaching Education (theories, approaches, methods and techniques) to teach English as a foreign language;
- Analysis of some case studies.
- Teaching simulations
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Ex cathedra classes and seminars. Class interaction will always be stimulated and welcome.
