Target skills and knowledge:

- be able to understand the organizational and productive choices of firms and other economic actors and link them with industrial heritage issues
- be able to analyze strategies of investment and technological innovation in history
- Deconstruct the firms storytelling, with specific attention to the aspects linked to the innovation process
- be able to put the productive choices of firms in perspective with the specific economic, political and social context. |

Course unit contents:
|
The course aims to provide notions in business history in order to understand the role of economic actors (firms and entrepreneurs), of their organisations and of their strategies behind technological and productive choices. In particular, we will focus on the historical dynamic of the multinational firm, on their role in the process of economic integration and on their impact over different economic and social contexts. An institutional standpoint will be adopted to the historical problem of the firm, in order to understand the mutual interactions between actors and societies in shaping technology and economy. |
