Prerequisites: The contents of this Laboratory include knowledge of Social and Work Psychology
Target skills and knowledge: The student will acquire practical skills in knowing how to self-evaluate and at the same time develop his own skills and evaluate and develop soft skills in the various contexts in which he will work. Attention will be paid to skills such as:
- self-confidence
- flexibility and adaptability
- resistance to stress
- plan and organize
- precision and attention to detail
- learning on an ongoing basis
- achieve objectives
- manage information
- be enterprising:
- communication skills
- problem solving
- team working
- cognitive flexibility
- emotional intelligence
- resilience
- leadership
Examination methods: The two-hour written exam will take place during the last teaching lesson or in an ad hoc appeal opened by the teacher and will focus on the contents addressed during the Laboratory, with particular reference to their application and operational components.
Assessment criteria: Since the Laboratory consists of a vocational and experiential teaching formula, the learning assessment criteria will specifically focus on these aspects, with particular reference to the empirical and operational effects of the tools, methods and techniques presented during the Laboratory. Additional elements that will contribute to defining the final evaluation will be the active participation during the lessons / exercises, the activities carried out autonomously in the application of the presented contents, the participatory and shared presence in the work group.
Course unit contents: The teaching is part of the set of CdS Laboratories in Clinical Psychology borrowed from the various Master's Degree courses in the school of psychology, which constitute a teaching formula provided in small groups of students (maximum 24 divided proportionally between the different CdS), in the presence and using experiential and vocational learning techniques by teachers.
The course is born from the need of the world of work to have resources with increasingly composite professionalism and possessing strong transversal skills, such as, for example, leadership, negotiation, ability to work in groups, empathy, flexibility, ability to make decisions "under pressure ”, delegation and organizational awareness.
The training course aims to describe, raise awareness and develop relational (psycho-social) skills, with the aim of strengthening one's own curriculum and self-marketing actions.
The following contents will be treated: list and definition of soft skills, mapping of psycho-social contexts in which these can be developed; presentation, compilation and discussion of competency budgets dedicated to soft skills. Organization of exercises that will allow identifying the soft skills possessed by subsequently implementing the strategies and methodologies to enhance them. Creation of ad hoc simulations (experiential training).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The didactics of the Laboratory foresees the presence in the classroom of the students, divided into small groups, to encourage learning on a professional and experiential basis. Work in the classroom and in groups is an integral part of the teaching of the Laboratory and constitutes one of the learning activities, alongside the verification of the individual components of each student. In this sense, the continuous frequency of the Laboratory is recommended.
Students who, for exceptional reasons, were unable to attend, are invited to contact the professor to arrange alternative activities.
Additional notes about suggested reading: In-depth articles will be provided during the course on research techniques and methodologies that will be discussed and evaluated.
They are study material for the exam:
- the course slides;
- some scientific articles.
All the study material (lesson slides, proposed readings, datasets) will be made available on the Moodle online platform.
