Prerequisites: Knowledge of General Psychology
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to train psychologists able to work with older adults.
Examination methods: Written examination with open questions.
Assessment criteria: You will be evaluated considering your knowledge on the main theoretical approach in aging psychology, research methods, Instrument of assesment, interventions, for older adults, formal and informal caregivers.
Course unit contents: -Ageism
-Cognitive changes on memory, intelligence and mechanism of cognition (working memory, cognitive inhibition, speed of processing)
-Psychopathology (dementia, depression, anxiety)
-Succesfull aging and weelbeing/aging paradox
-Cognitive assestment in aging
-Strategic and metacognitive interventions addressed for older people
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons also with the partecipation of experts and professionals, guided tour in home retirement.
