Prerequisites: The student must have acquired the skills courses: Dynamic Psychology, fundamentals of interview psychodynamic.
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims to provide students with theoretical and technical tools to understand how, in psychoanalysis, is the diagnosis. Starting from the understanding of mental suffering individual will be possible to place a request for consultation in a more complex picture where it becomes clear to the couple patient-therapist as an indication to treatment is most appropriate.
Examination methods: Oral exam
Assessment criteria: The assessment of the preparation of the student will be based on an understanding of the topics covered in the proposed texts. Evaluates both the understanding of theoretical concepts and methodologies clinics is the ability to develop and apply the skills acquired in an autonomous, critical and aware of the criteria differentials between different possible diagnoses.
Course unit contents: The theory is proposed as a model of support indispensable for the understanding of clinical phenomena such as narcissism, the theoretical developments of the concepts of life instinct and death and to give metapsychological foundation to structural decentralization of the subject of the unconscious. Diagnostics Mc Williams exemplify, for the axis of maturational levels, the concepts of: drives, intrapsychic structures, defensive mechanisms, types of anxiety, object relations and the assessment of self-cohesion. To the axis of the different types personological will be investigated: schizoid, narcissistic, antisocial, depressive, masochistic, hysterical and obsessive. Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The teaching consists mainly of lectures (PowerPoint presentations and video). Will be proposed group work, exercises on clinical material provided by the teacher and analysis of clinical cases. Are appreciated: the active participation of students and proposed further into specific themes.
