Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of general and life span psychology
Target skills and knowledge: The course will focus on:
Counselling approaches and applications in rehabilitation and therapy settings.
More particularly the role and competencies of the rehabilitation counsellor will be analyzed together with actions aimed at addressing main requests during the rehabilitation counseling in the context of psychosocial vunerabilities and disabilities.A particular attention will be devoted to themes related to a positive future construction.
Participants will develop knowledge on assessment procedures, interventions and efficacy assessment and to use them with personalizations.
Examination methods: A 1 hour examination is proposed to participants, consisting in 4 open questions dealing with main theroetical and applied issues addressed during the course.
Students regularly attending the course might benefit from a Step-by-Step Learning evaluation during the course, to be completed in a regular session.
Assessment criteria: A written examination is proposed to participants aiming at verifying:
the development of an appropriate Language,
Knowledge of theoretical foundations and rehabilitation counseling themes,
methodological and applied aspects of issues addressed during teaching activities and through personal study.
Course unit contents: Foundations
Approaches to rehabilitation counselling (RC)
Rehabilitation adn prevention in the RC
Assessment procedures and techniques: qualitative and quantitative theoretically based tools
Assessing efficacy: indices of change, effectiveness and counselling efficacy
Counselling themes and actions in situations of psychosocial vulnerability and disability.
Actions on Executive skills and psychological resources in the rehabilitation counselling.
An international co-teaching activity will contribute to developing a specific attention to counseling for future goals and life designing.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Besides formal lectures practical activities will be organized dealing with the use of assessment tools and efficacy verifications, construction of counselling sessions.
Case examples will be also analyzed
