Target skills and knowledge:

The course aims to provide tools of analysis and intervention in the context of interpersonal relationships. The early part of the course will develop an understanding of social interaction and interpersonal communication. The focus will then shift to processes observed in interpersonal disputes in the organizations. Finally, interpersonal relationships will be examined to increase tolerance of individual differences and encourage peaceful resolution of conflict. |
Examination methods:

The final exam will consist of open questions. The total scheduled time for the written exam is 2h. |

Full knowledge of the books for examination and critical thinking skills. |
Course unit contents:

This course will examine interpersonal relationships, broadly conceived.
Topics include:
1) Emotional rules
2) Roles and responsibilities
3) Conformism and emotional deviance
4) Indifference and ostracism |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

The course is an experiential approach to everyday interpersonal processes. It emphasizes observation, practice and discussion of such topics as self disclosure, verbal and nonverbal expression of feelings, listening skills. There will be many in-class activities, videos, and small group discussions. Basic psychological principles are presented and integrated into classroom discussion. |
