Some links with social psychology and methodology of psychosocial research will be underlined. |
Target skills and knowledge:
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview about the issues of political psychology. Topics covered in this course are mainly related to: voters and politicians' psychological characteristics, civic development in adolescence, socioeconomic inequalities and well-being, political communication. |
Examination methods:
|
The exam will be written with 8 open questions (5-6 lines for each response). It will take 40 minutes. |
Assessment criteria:
|
The assessment of the preparation of the students will be based both on the knowledge and understanding of the main topics, and on the acquisition of issues and proposed methodologies. Moreover, during the course students will be involved in some experimental works (group works). |

Main topics covered:
- Introduction on history of the research field
- Voters and Politicians psychological profiles (psychology and political ideology, theoretical models on political ideology)
- Civic development in adolescence
- Socioeconomic inequalities and wellbeing
- Political communication |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

In addition to frontal lectures, classroom exercises will be performed. These exercises will focus on the implementation of small projects aimed at studying political attitudes. |

International students can ask for material in English. There is also the possibility for these students to take the written exam in English. |
