Notes: All the curricula in "ICT for Internet and multimedia” entail an internship, worth 9 ECTS credits. The internship is intended for the student to acquire some practical experience in a hosting institution, where he/she can study and/or work on real-world problems. The hosting institution can be: a university/research center (including the University of Padova itself), an accredited company, or another company contacted by the student (after approval by the internship responsible person and successful accreditation of the company to the University of Padova). The students should be aware that some internships are offered for a specific period of time, while others are more open and flexible. Most (but not all) internships can be combined with the final thesis project, in order to build a more extensive training experience. However, it is also possible to separate the internship and the final project work, which can be carried out in two different institutions. Example of possible internship options are the following:

1. Research projects at the university (in combination with the final thesis project): develop a specific research project, which may consist in the design, development and testing of solutions to open scientific problems, the development of innovative functionalities in our lab testbeds, the experimental testing of new protocols, algorithms or technologies, and so on.

2. Applied project in a company (in combination with the final thesis project): develop a specific applied project, which may consist in the design of solutions to given problems of the company, the development of innovative software functionalities of a product, the testing of a product, and so on.

3. Professional experience in a company (internship only): carry out standard professional activities in collaboration with the company’s employees, developing practical skills and acquiring professional knowledge. This activity is usually suggested for internship experiences.

Students interested in doing a university internship can contact the Professor that is responsible for the related topic(s). Students that prefer a company internship can check the offers on the corresponding page of the M.I.M.E. website (
