Target skills and knowledge:

It is expected to provide the knowledge base of the establishment and operation of a large electric systems, to provide modeling of the key components as well as the control and adjustment. |
Assessment criteria:

The student evaluation will be based on: - the understanding of the arguments - on the acquisition of concepts and methodologies proposed, - the ability to apply them. |
Course unit contents:
|
Planning the electrical system: generating units commitment for the medium-and long-term. Typical schemes of installation of machinery and electrical equipment in power plants and power stations in particular in: - production and pumping of hydroelectric plants; - simple cycle power plants and combined cycle - cogeneration plants; - installations nucleotermo-electric - equipment for renewable energy sources. Ancillary services. The voltage regulation: the excitation systems. The protections in the generation plants. |
