Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of the Italian Language, as the course is in Italian
Target skills and knowledge: The course goal is to provide the students with the basic methodologies needed to solve problems by writing computer programs in C language.
Examination methods: Computer based programming test. 90 minutes.
Assessment criteria: Operational capability and correctness will be evaluated. From 0 to 30 cum laude.
Course unit contents: Introductory elements of computer architecture. 
Introductory elements of Operating Systems with a focus on files and file system. 

Introductions to high level languages, compilation, linkage-editing, libraries, debugging. 

Simple programming elements with examples and flow-charts use examples. 
Variables, procedures and parameters. Control flow. Structured types. Strings. 

Evaluation sequence. 
The concept of algorithm and introduction to complexity. 
Linear search, binary search. 
Sort. 

The programming language adopted is C.
