Syllabus
Prerequisites: Prerequisites are not requiered
Target skills and knowledge: Students acquire basic knowledge about the histology and morphology correlated to the function of the organs of tracheophytes
Examination methods: The final test is written with three open questions covering the topics of the course.
Assessment criteria: In evaluating the final test will be considered the knowledge of scientific language, the level of detail of the acquired knowledge, the ability to link the different topics
Course unit contents: Structure and function of cell membranes and organelles: cell wall, plastids and vacuole (1 CFU frontal lessons).

Tissue types (1,5 frontal lessons):

Istology and anatomy of the stem(1 CFU frontal lessons) and the root (0,5 frontal lessons): apex, primary anatomical structure (eustele, atactostele. actinostele). Changing from primary structure to secondary structure.
Secondary anatomical structure of stem and root.
Stem and root modifications.

Istology and anatomy of the leaf (0,5 CFU frontal lessons).
Leaf modifications.
Seed (0,5 CFU frontal lessons): germination and seedling development.

Practical exercises concerning the observation at light microscopy of sections from the different plant organs (1 CFU)
