Syllabus
Prerequisites: Dynamic Psychology and Psychopathology
Target skills and knowledge: The course would like to prepare students to the general principles of adulthood assessment, both in clinical and research fields. Psychological assessment session using tests as well as clinical dialogues will be presented in their general issues.
Students will learn to choose and apply some of the most used tools in clinical assessment with adults and the general principles to write an adult clinical diagnostic profile will be explained.
Examination methods: written, a couple of open questions, adult clinical profile description starting from test interpretation (1 hour time)
Assessment criteria: Theoretical, as well as applied knowledge about the program and the tests scroring and interpretation, will be assessed.
Course unit contents: after a brief introduction to the psychodiagnostic context in clinical and research field, a standard test battery will be presented to assess the adult psychological functioning. the clinical battery will present intelligence (WAIS), symptoms (SCL-90R, TAS-20), personality features (MCMI-III, Rorschach, AAP). students would be able to administer and score some of these tools, standing the tools norms and the general diagnostic aims. at the end, a clinical report of an adult case will be prepared.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons; practical excitations with administration and scoring in little work-groups; written assessment profile of an adult single case.
