Prerequisites: It is a basic course, and there are no mandatory prerequisites
Target skills and knowledge: The purpose of this course is to provide the basic references of general education, to enable students the acquisition of the basic elements of the pedagogical discourse, to work in education with competence and responsibility in our sociocultural contexts. Social and intercultural education will be treated with special care.
Examination methods: The examination will take place in written form, with 4 open questions on the topics. Time available 90 minutes.

Students may deliver an optional script agreed with the teacher
Assessment criteria: In evaluating the questions will be considered:

attention to the questions
clear and complete answers
adequate theoretical references
ability to understand the proposed topics and research skills in the field of education
Course unit contents: The contents will be divided into two main parts:
1.The fundamentals of pedagogy as an autonomous science and its relationship with other human sciences.
2 educational practice, with particular regard to interpersonal, social and intercultural educational work.

The following topics will be addressed:
- Education in a globalized society
- The educational relationship
- The educational inclusion
- intercultural education
- References to contemporary authors: Martin Buber - Paulo Freire - Alexander Langer
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures of introduction about the planned topics. Dialogue teacher-students.
It will also be possible:
- group work.
- testimonies and experiences of educators who work in schools and social-intercultural context.
- films on the topics of the course.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Possible changes will be announced by the first part of the course (see the notices to students).
For attending students will be helpful to take notes in class. For the same students (attendance of at least 50% of the lessons) a slightly smaller program than the one presented here may be agreed during the course.
