Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of the basic psychological concepts.
Comprehension of written English
Target skills and knowledge: The student will acquire knowledge on the main theories and research methods that psychology has developed to study personality and individual differences. The course is organized so that students reach their own point of view on personality starting from different theoretical perspectives.
Examination methods: Exam: written with open-ended, multiple choice and true/false questions
Time: 1 hour
written exam: 3 open questions + 1 "jolly" question
24 True/False and 6 multiple choice (1 point for correct answer, -1 for wrong answer)
Assessment criteria: Students will be evaluated on their:
-knowledge about theories of personalty and individual differences (multiple choices and true/false questions)
-ability to argue their knoweledge (open-ended questions)
Course unit contents: -Review of the main theoretical approaches on personality
-Analysis of individual differences in: motivation, intelligence, memory, study skills and spatial cognition.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons, tutorial on the use of personality questionnaires and individual differences measures
In-depth analysis of current literature results in small groups
