Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge on general psychology
Target skills and knowledge: Theoretical and methodological bases, as well as main topics, of life span psychology
Examination methods: Written exam with 3 open questions. Duration: 1 hour and a half.
The lenght of the answer to each question will be limited to one page. To pass the exam the student has to answer sufficiently to all three questions.
Assessment criteria: The exam will test the following aspects:
Knowledge of the main topics of developmental psychology
Knowledge of methods of developmental psychology
Use of an appropriate vocabulary for developmental psychology
Course unit contents: 1. Developmental psychology: history, theories and methods
2. Somatic, motor, perceptive development. Development of memory, intelligence and metacognition
3 Emotional, linguistic, moral and social development.
4. Adolescence
5 Atypical development: autism
6 The Child’s Representation of the World
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Theoretical lessons together with discussion of videos. Moreover experts that work on the territory will be invited.
Additional notes about suggested reading: For the exam the student has to study one compulsory book and one at his/her choice between two.
