Syllabus
Prerequisites: Some knowledge about experimental pedagogy.
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims at letting students reach:
1. competences in carrying out qualitative and/or quantitative research, trough reflections on workshop and on field activities.
2. knowledge about research methods and assessment processes
3. self and peer assessment competences; evaluative judgments capacity.
Examination methods: Given the aim to reach a "competence assessment", the exam consists of more different tests throughout the whole course.

The final grade will be calculated on the basis of the result on different tasks and test:
- an in group research report related to the learning outcome n.1 in the previous section;
- an online multiple-choice test related to the learning outcome n. 2.
Assessment criteria: Assessment criteria will be defined with the students according to the different activities that will be activated in class.
In general terms we will consider:
1. online presence, qualitatively and quantitatively: students engagement and interactions; students capacity to stimulate activities and give and receive suggestions to/from peers;
2. capacity to realize projects
3. capacity to give feedback to peers
4 the capacity to use feedback to improve your own work
5. learned knowledge
Course unit contents: - AfL perspective and participative paradigm;
- Epistemological perspectives of research methods;
- Educational research methods and tools;
- Structuring posters and writing report and research articles;
- self assessment and assessment instruments and methods in the specific subject.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: We will use the following teaching strategies:
- partnership approach among teacher and students: students will actively participate at the activities construction;
- limited use of knowledge-transmission lessons;
- co-construction of research projects by students;
- definition and co-construction of assessment criteria by students
Additional notes about suggested reading: SINCE THE FIRST DAY OF THE CURSE, students are invited to have available the book "Assessment for Learning" (with the attached e-book). The book could be easily found in the website of Pensa Multimedia.
