Basic knowledge concerning the work and organizations psychology is required. |
Target skills and knowledge:
|
- At the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Describe the main processes of assessment of the personnel in organizations (job analysis, recruitment processes, selection and evaluation of personnel).
2. Recognize the needs related to the assessment of organizational aspects such as personal characteristics related to work performance, potential, job performance and skills.
3. Choose, design and use qualitative and quantitative tools in the field - interview and test - for the analysis, evaluation and development of human resources. |
Examination methods:
|
The final evaluation will be divided into two sections and will be the same for attending and non-attending students:
1) Written exam with multiple choice, true/false and open-ended questions regarding the required course textbooks. The written exam can be complemented by an interview (upon a student’s motivated request). The evaluation of the written test will constitute two thirds of the final grade.
2) Online Assignment. Group discussion in forums and collaborative writing of documents deepening the development of tools and procedure for the selection and evaluation of personnel. The evaluation of the online assignment will constitute one thirds of the final grade.
The written exam and the online assignment will allow evaluating all the expected learning outcomes. Online assignment will be particularly useful for evaluating learning outcomes 2 and 3. |
Assessment criteria:

The degree of knowledge and skills developed at the end of the course will be assessed through the methods described above. The evaluation of the knowledge and skills will be based on the understanding of the topics covered, on the acquisition of the proposed methodologies and tools and on the ability to apply them in an autonomous, critical and conscious way.
Written exam assessment criteria, for both attending and non-attending students:
• Correct answers
• Complete answers
Online assignment assessment criteria, for both attending and non-attending students:
• quality of the individual work (correctness, adequacy, originality of contents and ability to integrate them with the work of colleagues);
• quality of the group work (synthesis, precision, completeness, correctness of the contents and adhesion to the assignment). |
Course unit contents:

During the course the following topics will be addressed:
1. The system of personnel evaluation in organizations: interdependencies with the remuneration system and the training system.
2. The job analysis: analysis and design of work and role, description of the job and requirements of the candidate, tools for analysis of the job.
3. Personnel selection: recruitment, evaluation and techniques.
4. Performance evaluation. |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

• Frontal lessons
• Individual study
• Discussion and group activities in the classroom
• Discussion and group activities online
• Interview simulations to be performed in the classroom and comment on-line (FAD).
• Shared writing in Moodle
During the online activity, students will have the opportunity to work in groups and learn to use some tools for the analysis, selection and evaluation of personnel.
Teacher activity: conducting lessons and activities in classroom; preparation of study material on the platform; supervision of activities and ongoing monitoring; didactic and scientific support; evaluation of products.
Tutor activity: technological support on the platform; disciplinary support in the specific contents of online activities; management of online working groups, ongoing monitoring; support in the processes of evaluation of products and processes. |
