Syllabus
Prerequisites: Organic Chemistry I, II and III.
Target skills and knowledge: The course will furnish theoretical and experimental instruments for the study of a reaction mechanism
Examination methods: Oral with presentation and discussion of a literature study with questions regarding the course. Estimated 30 minutes exam.
Course unit contents: 1. Brief introduction on main reaction mechanisms, thermodynamic and kinetic of a reaction, potential energy surfaces. LFER
2 Experimental methods for the determination of a mechanism: product identification, intermediates isolation/trapping, isotopic effect (primary/secondary). Stereochemical analysis. Analytical tecnques.

4. Non covalent interaction influences in reaction mechanism.
