Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of social psychology, anthropology and sociology.
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to give theoretical and methodological concepts about new media and the use of new technology for counselling and self help groups.
Examination methods: An oral exam is scheduled, students could substitute the oral exam with one paper about topics discussed during the class.
Assessment criteria: The class attendance is suggested.
Course unit contents: 1 Introduction to new media
2 Format and languages of the web
3 Identities and social interactions
4 Social inequality, digital divide e literacy
5 Online community
6 Self disclosure, Visual anonimity, De-individuation
7 Digital methods and interviews
8 Self help groups and counselling thorugh digital platforms.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons with Power Point support. Eventually, students will decide the topic of the paper with professor's support.
