Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of hypothesis testing.
Target skills and knowledge: Knowledge of the statistical foundations of the analysis of factorial designs. Ability to perform the variance analysis technique. Ability to independently interpret the results of this technique.
Examination methods: The examination will consist of a written assignment evaluating the student's ability to calculate the analysis of variance, their understanding of the meaning of the underlying statistical concepts, and the correctness of their interpretation of the obtained results.
Assessment criteria: Evaluation of the student's ability to calculate the analysis of variance, evaluation of the understanding of the meaning of the underlying statistical aspects, and evaluation of the correctness of the interpretation of the obtained results.
Course unit contents: Hypothesis testing. Analysis of variance.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Exposition of theory integrated with pencil and paper or computer-based exercises.
Additional notes about suggested reading: It is recommended that students regularly attend the course which, due to its characteristics, provides skills that can not be acquired only through the study of the text. The text for the course can be one of the two indicated reference texts.
