Syllabus
Prerequisites: no examination is required as a prior condition
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of these laboratories is to give notions about motor control, in particular as concerns reach-to-grasp movements
Examination methods: Final Assessment will be a written report on the laboratory activities
Assessment criteria: none
Course unit contents: 1. Kinematic analysis highlights the transformation of sensorial representations about object intrinsic properties (e.g. shape) into Motor Plans allowing the appropriate configuration of prehensile hand
2. Statistical analysis of kinematic data shows how this configuration is achieved by a reduced number of hand-joints postural synergies
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Practical lessons will be focused on the recording, tracking and analysis of 3-D data obtained during reach-to-grasp tasks
