Syllabus
Prerequisites: To easily understand the contents of the course
the student should ideally possess notions of cognitive psycology, experimental and clinical neuropsycology as well as the main neuropsychological assessment tools.
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide effective tools for Neuropsycologycal Rehabilitation of cognitive disorders after brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases.
Examination methods: Oral exam. For erasmus students the exam language could take place in English.
The students, in order to participate in the examination MUST register via UniWeb .
Course unit contents: The student will acquire knowledge about the brain plasticity and the rehabilitation of the following disorders:
Attention;
• Memory,
• Visuospatial skills;
• Language;
• Apraxia;
• Calculation;
• Rehabilitation of patients with traumatic brain injury and dementia.
Moreover,The student during the clinical case exercises will acquire knowledge about team work and the integration of the various multidisciplinary skills that revolve around the patient with acquired cognitive disorders.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course consists in formal lectures. Furthermore during the course will be conducted exercises on clinical cases. Thereafter students will be required to actively take part in the course by preparing written and oral presentations on selected scientific papers.
Additional notes about suggested reading: The contents explained in class will be uploaded on Moodle.
