Syllabus
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the basic concepts of General and Developmental psychology.
Target skills and knowledge: The course intends to examine the difficulties associated to disability and social diseases. Inclusion and participation will be examined and, then, programs to facilitate them will be analyzed with attention to the counseling activities. Special attention will be directed to the involvement of important persons, like peers, parents, teachers and employers.
Examination methods: The exam will be in written form, with two open-ended
questions. The exam will last one hour.
Assessment criteria: - Knowledge of the theoretical topics covered by the program

- Knowledge of activities for assessment and intervention
Course unit contents: - Difficulties associated to disabilities and social diseases
- Social inclusion and participation
- Programs to stimulate social inclusion and participation

- Involving teachers and employers
- Counseling activities to facilitate inclusion
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The lectures will discuss the main theoretical and methodological issues of the discipline and will present field experiences. In addition to the lectures, practicals will be used for an in-depth analysis of the main topics.
