Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge in general and developmental psychology are required.
Target skills and knowledge: Definitions of Disability, Diversity and Vulnerability.
Recent conceptual approaches to the study of disability.
Inserting, integrating and including: conceptual and applied implications.
The assessment, rehabilitation and inclusion of individuals with temporary or chronic disabling conditions.
Procedures and supports fostering school and social inclusion.
Examination methods: One hour written examination with 4 open questions
Assessment criteria: Knowledge of the main topics included in the course.
Use of specific and inclusive language
Knowledge of the main assessment procedures and interventions addressed during the course
Course unit contents: Dimensions and tools for the assessment of disabilities.
Executive skills, problem solving and social skills, self-determination.
Family, quality of life and disability.
Inclusion: definitions, approaches and assessment tools
Teachers, peers, parents and professionals: their role in supporting inclusion
Work inclusion of persons with history of migration
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Besides analysis of the main topics, videos, open discussions, examples and case studies will be provided to students attending the course.

A detailed analysis of inclusion issues for individuals with migration history will be carried out according to recent theoretical approaches and laboratory activities
