Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of clinical psychology
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide the fundamental theoretical and methodological skills for the evaluation of the psychotherapeutic intervention, necessary for a scientific approach to research and to the clinic. The necessary skills will be provided:
1. Research and understanding of specialized literature
2. Skills for a critical analysis of the main theoretical models of psychotherapy, aimed at developing a perspective of integration.
3. Skills to the selection, use and interpretation of the main evaluation tools of the process and of the outcome in psychotherapy
Examination methods: The exam will take place in written form.
Assessment criteria: Students will be evaluated on the acquisition of the theoretical, practical and terminological skills covered by the course, and on their capacity for critical analysis.
Course unit contents: The lessons contents cover the theoretical and methodological aspects of the evaluation of the fundamental aspects in psychotherapy. In particular, the following will be considered:
1. Evaluation of intrapersonal processes (eg, empathy, work alliance, ruptures and reparations), and interpersonal (ex .: personality, attachment, defense mechanisms) in clinical-dynamic psychology
2. The methodological problems in research in psychotherapy with reference to the models of cognitive and systemic dynamic psychology
3. The contribution of neuroscience in psychotherapy
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons and collegiate discussions
Presentations in the classroom of scientific articles by the students
Practical simulations
