- Knowing the opportunities offered by the use of databases in the care processes, management, training and research in the fields of the health professions of prevention.
- Have basic knowledge about the functionality of the systems for the management of data bases.
- Knowing how to develop conceptual models in the design of databases.
- Acquire skills necessary for logical design of a database relational system.
- Knowing how to use the SQL language for the definition, implementation and querying databases.

Knowledge of  the main theories related to the teaching and the consequent methodological approaches
Knowledge the basics of teaching and communication processes
Elements of the training project: analysis of training needs, program construction, control and verification of the training project
Teaching methods and skills to supervise and organize the "classroom"
Encourage students to live group experiences directly and observe the different dynamics

You must have understood the theoretical aspects that justify the techniques for the management of the information presented in the course. You must have the ability to properly apply these techniques for the collection, storage, retrieval and analysis of data.

Written exam, participation at the group’s works in the classroom and individual exercises.

Course unit contents: Contents

1. Database management system.
2. Conceptual design and Entity – Relationship model.
3. Logical design. The relational model and relational algebra.
4. Functional Dependency, breakdown of relationships. Normal forms.
5. The SQL language for the definition of metadata (DDL), for querying (DML) and for control management (DCL).
6. The use of databases in social and health research: the opinion survey and the structured questionnaire.

The course aims to provide knowledge of the main theories and methods of teaching and training. The skills in the training project’s construction in relation to the stages of analysis, planning of the teaching program and evaluation of the acquired skills. The basic knowledge of communication processes and techniques of effective communication. The skills for the proper management of the classroom during the training.

- Lectures for the theoretical and classroom demonstrations for each topic covered.
- Video projection of educational material.
- Application of theoretical aspects with practical examples.
- Discussion of cases and exercises done collectively.

The teaching aims to the acquisition from the student of a general understanding of the framework on the general teaching and principles of training. This will permit to understand the most appropriate mode of transmission contained within a formal work context as a classroom and tools for the effective communication.
The teaching will take place through lectures interspersed with exercises in groups to accomplish certain methodological tasks, with the use of active techniques
