Prerequisites: Basic knowledge on anatomy and pathophysiology of VII n. cranial and mimic muscles.
Target skills and knowledge: Basic knowledge on the theory of complex systems applied to the human organism.
In-depth knowledge of the anatomical and functional supersystem of the head and neck (functional relationships between the VII and the other cranial nodes).
In-depth knowledge on mimicry as a fundamental element of CNV, with particular regard to the mimic of emotions.
Epidemiology, semeiotics and clinical of peripheral paralysis of the facial; their evolution and methods of recovery with particular regard to the restructuring of neuronal networks.
Methodology in rehabilitation: therapeutic behaviors in a systemic vision. Theory of therapeutic exercise.
Design and execution of the therapeutic exercise.
Examination methods: Interview with the teacher on specific topics and on proposed clinical cases. Exposure of any research work on specific topics agreed with the teacher.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation is based on:
on the assessment of specific knowledge (systemic vision, methodology, clinical and rehabilitation with detailed techniques);
on exhibition capacity, clinical reasoning and problematization;
on the ability to generate hypotheses and situations of verification or falsification of these, framing eventual clinical cases and proposing solutions to specific problems in the rehabilitation field regarding the specific pathology
Course unit contents: Causes, natural history and possibility of rehabilitative treatment in the peripheral paralysis of the facial.
Therapeutic pipelines and multiple examples of rehabilitative exercises, conducted according to a systemic perspective.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures with projections of a large slide kit.
Projections of movies.
Debate on clinical cases led by the teacher.
