Syllabus
Prerequisites: You must have passed an examination on private law (IUS/01).
Target skills and knowledge: The course will provide students with the skills of consumer law, in particular with the legislation introduced in Italy in transposition of European legal acts.
Examination methods: Oral examination
Assessment criteria: The evaluation consideres not only the right answers, but also the use of right legal language and the ability to process critically the information gained.
Course unit contents: Consumer’s legal concept.
Consumer Code.
Unfair business practices.
Consumer contracts and unfair clauses.
Sale of consumer goods
Contract consumer credit.
Distance contracts, Contracts negotiated away from business premises and electronic commerce.
Timeshare. Travel contracts and sale of packages.
Product liability. Class action.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures with the support of slides. Lessons will take place with constant reference to case studies.
