Prerequisites: Intermediate micro, macro and econometrics
Target skills and knowledge: The first part (32 hours) will cover topics in the economics of education and human capital

The second part (10 hours) will cover topics in health economics
Examination methods: written exam plus a presentation of a paper in the relevant area at the end of the course
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will include the ability to present somebody else's research as well the understanding of methods and their applications
Course unit contents: Economics of education will cover the following topics (selection):

human capital and growth
health and growth
returns to education
market failures in education
private and public schools
curricula differentiation and tracking
tests, teaching to the test and cheating
immigration and education

the second part of the course will focus on health economics
