Syllabus
Prerequisites: Prerequisites are not reported. For profitable teaching it is recommendable to have assimilated the general knowledge of physics and agricultural mechanics
Target skills and knowledge: The student will acquire the basics for managing agricultural machinery. In particular, it will be able to make decision, sizing and adjust the tractor and the main agricultural machines on the basis of operational, economic, agromomic and environmental requirements
Examination methods: oral or written tests with open questions. There are no exams during the course
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the preparation of students will be based on an understanding of the arguments, on the mastery of technical language, and on acquisition of concepts and proposed methodologies
Course unit contents: 1 CFU: Work organization and sizing of agricultural machineries
1 CFU: Economic and energy analysis of agricultural machines
1 CFU: Security and safety of agricultural machineries
1 CFU: Tillage mechanization
1 CFU: Machinery for planting, fertilization, crop protection and harvesting
1 CFU: Precision Agriculture
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures (60%), exercises in the classroom (20%), field activities and seminars (20%)
Additional notes about suggested reading: The frequency also to learn the technical terminology is recommended. The study material is mainly based on slides presented during the lessons and downloaded from the site.
