Prerequisites: The student should have a basic knowledge of the Greek language, so she/he can understand the translation of the texts, that the teacher suggests during the lessons. As for the texts that the students have to translate by their own, they can ask the teacher for help before the exam, when the teacher receives the students.
Target skills and knowledge: A collection of texts, that describe the Greek symposium or were performed during it, will offer the students the opportunity to go deeper into the knowledge of the Greek literature from the archaic to the classical age, to strengthen the knowledge of the Greek grammar and the skills in translating and analyzing a text.
Examination methods: Oral test after the end of the lessons.
Assessment criteria: The student has an accurate and complete knowledge of the subject matters and is able to translate and analyse the texts.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: This course consists of lectures and workshops devoted to the analysis of the texts.
Additional notes about suggested reading: On moodle the student finds the anthology of Greek texts, the slides shown during the lessons and some papers.
