Syllabus
Prerequisites: No particular prerequisites are needed.
Target skills and knowledge: The course is aimed at introducing basic concepts and methods of Psychometrics.

More specifically, the contents of the course are the following:

- Basic set theory
- Foundations of relations and functions theories; measurement scales
- Combinatorics and probability theories
- Discrete and continuous probability distributions
- Descriptive statistics
- Basic principles of statistical inference
- z test, t test
- chi-squared test
- Correlation
- Basic principles of analysis of variance (ANOVA)
Examination methods: The exam will be on computer. The exam will consists in solving numerical exercises includng also theoretical issues. The exam will last 2 hours.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will take into account both the correct solution of the exercises (with respect to the correctness of the obtained numerical result), and the logical sequence of concepts that underlie the exercise (i.e., the correct sequence of passages to reach the numerical solution). The appropriateness of the comments to the results will be considered too.
